Installation Service...

We offer a fully inclusive nationwide (uk mainland - out of UK, no problem give us a ring to discuss!) installation service for all of our Thatched Huts and Gazebos and Decking and Design Service. Our price includes the manufacture, delivery, and full installation of the thatched hut, and any extra items or services you have pre-requested. Although very unlikely, we do advise you contact your local council to establish whether or not you will require planning permission.

We believe our costings to be very competetive yet realistic. Our thatched huts are made from high quality redwood and douglas fir rather than the cheaper pine kits you will see offered. We do this as pine will easily split under adverse weather conditions. All our timber components are fully treated with tanalith E which offers many years of protection against the weather.

Unlike a lot of other firms, we do not insist on a preformed level surface to fit on, although it is a delight when this happens!

We can install our huts onto almost any surface, and even onto a surface which slopes or is not level.
We totally hand build the base and framework on site, and can therefore overcome all obstacles and unevenness as we go. Obviously, we will have discussed the terrain, access, requirements etc long before our arrival, and therefore can be certain that the installation will be swift and successful.

Our Installation team are all smart, polite, fully experienced and most importantly, clean and tidy. All they will require is an electric supply, and someone to show them where the hut is going, and they will take care of the rest.

On Site Construction...

Constructing the base frame for your African Thatched Hut

The treated timber base frame is constructed on site. Once the exact desired position is decided, we can start levelling and fixing the base. As you can see, we do not require a pre-formed concrete hard stand for our thatched huts. However, we can fix onto concrete, decking, patios etc.

Cladding the base of your African Thatched Hut Once the frame has been levelled and fixed, we can start fixing the external cladding (note how we follow the contours of the ground it is sitting on) and then the actual deck boards. Again, these are all tanalised redwood which have been coated with additional coloured weather treatment. Decking the base of your African Thatched Hut
Completing the base of your African Thatched Hut The deck is now complete, and the holes have been carefully marked and cut ready to accept the roof support poles. We pride ourselves in how strong and solid our deck bases are, and the fact they are all constructed from quality timbers. Completing the base of your African Thatched Hut
Assembling the poles of your African Thatched Hut We can now start to assemble the rest of the thatched hut. The support poles are Douglas Fir ‘quarter-sawn’ 5inch diameter logs, this is to minimise splitting, which often occurs in softwood poles. The ballustrades and headrails etc are again all constructed from tanalised and treated redwood. Assembling the ballustrades of your African Thatched Hut
Assembling the roof frame of your African Thatched Hut The metal roof frame is now constructed. This is galvanised to prevent rusting, and also treated with a secondary beige colour coating to help blend with the underside of the thatch tiles. Once assembled, it is fixed solidly to the hut ready for the tiles. We also do an interesting line in child- proof cages! Completing the roof frame of your African Thatched Hut
Assembling the roof tiles of your African Thatched Hut Now the tiles are carefully positioned and fixed onto the metal frame. At this stage, the thatched hut is almost complete, and the true beauty of the structure is starting to show. Completing the roof tiles of your African Thatched Hut
Your African Thatched Hut The thatched hut is now complete. It is time to personalise it with your furniture etc. We hope you enjoy your stunning African Thatch Hut for many years to come. Your African Thatched Hut
